Throttle Bodies Missing In Action
Sorry folks – I had hoped to be reporting back on the results from dyno testing today but Steve at Jaz has still not managed to retrieve the throttle bodies. It looks like the engineer working on them is missing presumed on half-term holidays.
The good news from Steve is that the fan is sorted and ready for him to pick up en route to BS Motorsport for the dyno test. He’ll fit it before plugging the engine into their test cell.
Pending Post – Bell & Bellof
After reading an article in Classic Porsche about the late great Stefan Bellof – I remembered seeing him race with co-driver Derek Bell at the May 1984 1000 Kilometre Race at Silverstone in a Rothmans Porsche 956. I’ve found some old medium format negatives from the event but need to scan them into digital format to upload. Coming soon.
Pending Post – Regent Street Motor Show
I’m aiming to get down to the Regent Street Motor Show on Saturday 2nd Nov. The main event is the chance to get up close to the London To Brighton Veteran Cars and their period costumed owners the day before they head off on Sunday on the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run. Great to think that this celebrates the repealing of the law requiring drivers to have a man run in front of them with a red flag!!!
There’s usually an intersting range of veteran cars on display that have come (with their owners/driver/passengers) rom all parts of the world. You can really see how the term “coachbuilder” evolved from people who built coaches to people who built cars (that look remarkably like coaches). One of the steam driven vehicles looks more like a mobile stove than a car!
This year there’ll also be special displays of Astons and 911’s to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Aston Martin and the 50th Anniversary of the 911 respectively. Hopefully publishing a post later the same day.
